Professional Development Component

• The focus of the professional development component was on the job market, both inside and outside academia. Jeffrey Lagarias of AT&T Research spoke on Mathematics in Industry, and there was a panel discussion on the experiences of some mathematicians in non-academic jobs. The panelists were Jeffrey Lagarias (AT&T Research), Kristin Lauter (Microsoft), Charles Toll (NSA), and Michael Zieve (IDA).
